A Complete World of Warcraft Leveling Guide

So, you have started playing World of Warcraft. You probably want to level as fast as you can, so that way you can reach level 80 and start doing the most fun end game activities like PvPing, raiding, and get access to the best gear in the game. This World of Warcraft leveling guide should help give you general ideas on where you should be.

Levels 1-10

These levels go extremely fast because you do not need much experience. Just wander around, try to complete quests and try and figure out how your class works.

Levels 10-20

Starting at around level 10 or 11 you should be able to join the LGD queue. This is a great tool because it lets you pick a role (DPS for all classes, or tank or healer for applicable classes) and then be teleported to the start of a dungeon appropriate for your level. If you are in a dungeon with other people, be polite to them. Share any quests you have and do not take on any loot you cannot use. It’s a group game so try to cooperate with people. If you are a healer or tank, the wait time is much lower for you because every group needs those roles. If you opt not to use the LFG tool the Barrens is the best spot to level for this range.

Levels 21-30

Start making your way south through Thousand Needles from the Barrens. Wailing Caverns is a good instance for low twenties. Be sure to visit Ratchet in the southern Barrens for most of the quests.

Levels 31-45

You have a lot of choices here. Continue on to Shimmering Flats or cross over on the boat to Booty Bay from Ratchet to reach Stranglethorn Vale. The best instances to run are Mauradon and Zul’Farrak once you are in the low forties.

Levels 45-55

Finish up quest lines by continuing to go south in Tanaris or make your way to the Hinterlands. The Hinterlands is a fantastic quest zone, mostly due to the abundance of quests to do in Jin’Al’Thor. Make sure you get the Rune of the Guard Captain trinket or the spellcaster cloak as one of your rewards.

You’re over halfway there! Another tip from this World of Warcraft leveling guide – make sure to check back with your class trainer every couple of levels to make sure you know all the new spells and abilites you might have forgotten you have access to.

Levels 55-58

Check out Winterspring or Silithus or the Eastern Plaguelands. Once you hit level 58 proceed immediately to Outlands by taking the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands.

Levels 58-63

Run Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnace. The gear is great and there are several questlines for both dungeons.

Levels 63-66

Move west into Zangermarsh. Underbog and Slavepens are good instances also with decent loot for all classes.

Level 66-68

Do Hemett Nesingway’s questline if you can in Nagrand. Make sure to stop in Shattarah to gain the flight path and also to get access to all the portals it offers. Shadow Labs and Steam Vaults are fun, if challenging, instances at level 68.

Levels 68-72

Quest in the Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra. The quest rewards, even green items, are really good so make sure you pay attention to the quest rewards so you pick the right one for your class. Utgarde Keep will be the primary instance here.Levels 72-75

You can go north to Grizzly Hills or Dragonblight. Dragonblight has more quests and is a slightly easier area. The two instances here are Old Kingdom and AN, both full of fearsome huge spiders.

Levels 75-77

Make your way to Sholozar Basin and find Hemett Nesingway again in the west or check out Zul’Drak. If you are in Zul’Drak be sure to do the Ampitheatre of Anguish – you will need a group but it’s a lot of experience, gold and a great blue item for your level at the end. Run the instances Gundrak and Drak Tharon Keep here.Levels 77-80

You’re almost there. If you decide to go exploring Storm Peaks or Icecrown try and make sure you have an epic flying mount first because these zones are huge. Otherwise, look into Halls of Stone and Halls of Lightning, both in the northern part of Storm Peaks.Once you hit 80 you want to start running heroics to gear up and get frost badges to get better equipment. This lets you get geared enough so you can start raiding.

I hope this World of Warcraft leveling guide has been useful – there is a lot of information out there, and it’s hard to get it all.
